Ebony S. Clemons has over a decade of experience building community through positive community relations, strategic partnerships, and economic development. As Manager of the Economic Development team, she is accountable for leading the economic development effort within the Evergy Kansas and Missouri service area. Her role includes managing the economic development process, fostering/maintaining relationships with internal and external partners and development groups, and providing input into the development of new services and tariffs as it pertains to Economic Development.
Ebony serves as a Director on the Utility Economic Development Board, the Greater Wichita Partnership Strategic Advisory Team and is actively engaged in the Kansas Economic Development Alliance. She has a dual degree in Political Science and Psychology from Kansas State University and a Master of Business Law from Friends University.
Christa Atchison, CEcD, MoCED

Christa Atchison is a Senior Economic Development Manager where she currently works with local partners within the Evergy Kansas and Missouri Metro area and Missouri West. She has been in the economic development profession for more than 15 years and has worked as a local economic developer in Clinton, MO as a senior project manager for the Missouri Department of Economic Development – Regional Engagement team and Liberty Utilities.
Christa is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and a Missouri Certified Economic Developer, MoCED. She brings years of experience to the table as an active member of her community and IEDC. Christa graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Agricultural Business with an emphasis in Finance and Management.
Scott Jones is responsible for fostering and maintaining positive relationships with local partners in the Evergy Kansas Metro area. As a Community Business Manager, he interfaces with internal departments to provide excellent customer service and innovative solutions for local partners. He’s an experienced professional with decades of public affairs and engineering expertise. His roles at Evergy have included Energy Consultant for Tier 1 customers, and Government Affairs in the State of Kansas.
Scott is a Professional Engineer and registered lobbyist in the State of Kansas and has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University and master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
Dan Hegeman has been with Evergy and its predecessor since 2008. As a Community Business Manager, Dan covers the Evergy Missouri West service area. His responsibilities include interfacing with a multitude of departments to provide solutions for local partners in economic development, Chambers of Commerce, and local government.
As former Missouri State Senator and Missouri State Representative, Dan Hegeman has been very involved in working communities in rural Northwest Missouri. The skills and connections learned over his 19 years of public service in the Missouri General Assembly serve him well in working with municipalities and development organizations.
